Garret Dendras has made some very bad decisions over the years, his life of crime and letting Dr. Alison MacDonald get away ! Now Garret's grandmother is very sick, and he and Ally must work together to find a magical spring . What happens? Garret never understood what hippos had to do with medicine. BWAHAAHAAHAA That is THE MOST HILARIOUS line! Well, that I could share without giving anything away, that is. As soon as I read it in the blurb at the beginning I was HOWLING with laughter! This is one FANGTASTIC story!! A PUUURRRFECT addition to one FURRIFIC series!! I love how sentimental this story is. There are quite a few little things here & there that make your heart swell, your eyes leak & have you grinning like a fool. And you will also find yourself sniffling & saying "aawwww" a lot too. Of course, you will also be laughing, crying, tapping your toes impatiently, biting your finger nails, and oh so much more!!! Even though Garret & Ally's story is a happily-for-now kind of ending, there are more questions I still NEED answers for! I have a feeling that Sennah is setting us up for one humdinger of a magical storyline that will span multiple books! I am wishing & hoping that it will take many, many books before we solve all of the mysteries, uncover all of the secrets and of course, many, many, MANY books before all of the Sunset Glade panthers - and other such magical people & creatures - find & claim their mates! I ABSO-FURRY-LUTELY LOVE THIS PANTHERTASTIC series by Sennah! With her FURNOMENAL talent I am instantly drawn into the story & connecting with the characters so that I am living their story with them. Sennah has me wholly, utterly & completely addicted to her SHIFTACULAR stories so much so I cannot get enough of them, even after reading them multiple times!
Hit fast-forward and spray gloss over everything - that's the main impression I have of this story.
I really wanted more backstory and more explanation for what was going on and some resolution would have been nice. What exactly did Garret do? When a hero goes bad - I really need to know how bad he went to decide if he's really forgivable or not. As it is, there's a lot of dancing around it, but nothing concrete. So while I'm left imagining the worst, we have Garret and Ally going off on a trek through the woods and getting it on in the middle of nowhere (no issues with wildlife, bugs, freeezing in the night, nope), then we have them running into problems and then ...we don't resolve the problems satisfactorily before poof, we're at the happy ending. I get the "I don't want to write boring stuff. My characters are intelligent and they manage to figure out a way around things", but if you explicitly said there was a problem that wasn't easily solvable, I'd really like at least a one-liner explaining what happened. And the entire thing that prompted the quest? Not really explained at the end either.
In the end, this really didn't do it for me. It was a fun romp in the woods, but I really like well-written plot and characterization along with my entertainment.

Ally and Garrett were sweethearts and then they just seemed to have parted. Garrett was heading down a dark path and didn't want to drag Ally with him...just a shame he didn't tell Ally that.
Now Garret has returned home and is looking after his gran but the town he left behind is not quite ready to forgive and forget. Garret understands their animosity but he knows his gran is ill and her medicine is eating up a huge part of his pay...when he's not being diddled by cranky pensioners!!!
When his gran takes a bad turn he runs to their neighbours and finds that Ally has returned to her grans. There is magic required to save his gran and he is given a quest to obtain a magic liquid. Ally comes along and ends up being of help. They do manage to come to terms with their past at last accept that their passion is very real and very hot!!!!
Short episode in the Sunset Glade Panthers series. There wasn't much back story to Ally and Garrett so I'm still not actually sure why they broke up in the first place - hence the 4* rather than 5* review. I'm hoping that the next book in the series will be a bit more substantial and explain a bit more of Ally and Garrett!!!

This is a great series. I was excited that we get to see this world expanded and can't wait for more to come. Garrett and Ally were well developed characters and I am eagerly awaiting the resolution to the mystery.
I love this story! Ally is a young woman whose heart was broken by her first love. Garret is a panther shifter who never wanted to hurt her. They still love each other. Everything they go through to work it out makes a terrific story. Extremely well written and passionate. I definitely recommend reading this book.
